Three men were killed and another two people wounded in shootings since about 10:15 a.m. Sunday, according to authorities.
A man was killed and a teenager was wounded this morning in a shooting on the West Side in the city's Humboldt Park neighborhood.
About 10:15 a.m., officers and paramedics responded to a shooting on the 1100 block of North Keystone Avenue, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.
A 21-year-old man was fatally wounded and a 17-year-old boy was shot in the hip and taken to Stroger Hospital were his condition was stabilized, said Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez, citing preliminary information.
The 21-year-old man was identified as Marcus Freeman of the 1400 block of North Mayfield Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was pronounced dead at 12:45 p.m.
It appears both victims were shot outside, Perez said.
At about 4:30 p.m., a 23-year-old man was fatally shot on the 6900 block of South Halsted Street at 4:30 p.m., News Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss said. A spokesman with the Cook County medical examiner's office said that the man's identity was not known.
