7 before 7 - Chicago 7 shot and wounded before 7pm tonight - Black violence hasn't slowed down even after many new police tactics have been introduced


At least seven people were wounded this afternoon in four shootings on the South and West sides, officials said.

Four people were shot in the 100 block of North Laporte Avenue around 6 p.m., according to Chicago Fire Department spokeswoman Meg Ahlheim.

One person was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, and the other three were taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, she said.

Minutes later, a man was shot in the 10300 block of South Bensley Avenue in the South Deering neighborhood near Trumbull Park. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, Ahlheim said.
