Study depicts workplace conditions for carwash employees - Poor Illegal Mexicans not being treated fairly
Searching for a better life than the impoverished one he had in his native Mexico, Martin Cervantes (ILLEGALLY) moved to Chicago and (ILLEGALLY) took a job at a carwash on the West Side. But after a year and a half there, and fed up with work conditions, he quit and took a job in a factory. Cervantes said he was never paid an hourly rate at the carwash and was compensated only through tips. He said he worked long, grueling hours — sometimes without a break — but never received overtime pay. Once, in order to pay rent and buy groceries, he had to sell his TV set. "This is supposed to be the country of opportunities, but I can assure you the American dream is hard to fulfill," Cervantes, 29, said through a translator (CAUSE HE CAN'T SPEAK A LICK OF ENGLISH). "We want society to open their eyes — this job is poorly paid and hard work." (GO BACK TO MEXICO ASSHOLE) CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL NEWS STORY
