A veteran Chicago police officer has been charged with bribery and official misconduct for allegedly taking a bribe to fix a pending criminal case, authorities said today.
Harold Rodriguez, 45, is accused of pocketing a payoff of several thousand dollars in return for having a traffic-related offense dismissed from court, according to sources.
The felony charges against Rodriguez were filed Tuesday night, said Tandra Simonton, a spokeswoman for Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez.
