I received this information from one of our own retired Chicago Police officers, Bill Jerozal. Bill worked in the First District many years, and is a friend of all who worked there. He is 61 years old, married with Five children, and Eleven grand-children.

I'm enclosing his e-mail.

Hi everybody, sorry to contact you under these circumstances, but I would really appreciate if you could send out an SOS for some prayers and good wishes on my behalf, and for my family. A couple of weeks ago, I was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus, and upper stomach area. I went for more scans on Monday, and they found the cancer has spread to my liver, other lymph nodes in my abdomen, and some of the lymph nodes around my aorta artery. My family and I will see a cancer specialist tomorrow to discuss options, and a course of treatment that will start with chemo therapy. It will be in God's hands from here on out, and that's all I can ask for. Again, thanks in advance for any prayers and good wishes that may help my family deal with the bumpy road ahead, Bill.
