A tanker truck struck and killed a pedestrian in Elk Grove Village Friday night, police said.
Jose Resugio Meza-Horatio, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene about 9:45 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. The truck was southbound on Elmhurst Road approaching Landmeier Road when it struck the man about 9:30 p.m., police said in a release.
Meza-Horatio lived in the 100 block of Dover Drive in Des Plaines, less than two miles from where he was killed, according to the medical examiner's office.
