Typically Chicago Black Violence Quiets When Fall Rolls Around But Not This Year - 7 shootings in 3 hours leave 2 dead, 5 wounded


CHICAGO, IL - Two men were killed and five people were wounded between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Saturday morning.
About 5:57 a.m. a female whose age wasn't available was shot in the 5400 block of West Diversey, five blocks from a shooting about two hours earlier. She was taken to Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center.
The most recent homicide happened about 5:45 a.m. in the 9700 block of South Exchange Avenue. Police were sent to the area to check on someone's well being and found a man dead in the street with a gunshot wound, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.
A male walked into John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with a gunshot wound to the back. He was shot in the 1800 block of West 23rd Street about 4:25 a.m., Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
