Four people were taken to hospitals in serious condition tonight following a fight at Cook County Jail, according to authorities. The four were taken to hospitals after paramedics responded to the Cook County Jail on the Southwest Side, according to fire spokesman Will Knight. Two were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and two to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to the Fire Department.

All four were in serious condition. All four of the injured sustained cuts and bruises and all are expected to survive, Cook County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Frank Bilecki said. One had a cut lip, another suffered a cut on his forehead, another had a cut to the arm, and the fourth person may have had a broken nose. When the corrections officers told them to stop fighting, they listened, Bilecki said.
