Man shot in $140,000.00 robbery at CTA bus barn

Two robbers made off with more than $140,000 from a 71-year-old retired CTA worker who was delivering the money to a credit union in a bus garage on the West Side this morning. Three "persons of interest" are being quesionted tonight, two of whom were taken into custody soon afterward and the third who "turned himself in'' later, police said. No charges have been filed yet. The worker was walking toward the Chicago Avenue Garage Federal Credit Union at 642 N. Pulaski Rd. around 8:45 a.m. to deliver the money from a bank when two men confronted him, according to police. A short time later, a red van was spotted at a gas station at Washington Boulevard and Pulaski Road, a little south of the CTA garage.
