Police in south suburban Riverdale shot and killed a man Friday night after they responded to a report of a man firing a gun, according to a statement released by the police department. About 6:25 p.m., the man apparently fled into an apartment and witnesses at the scene in the 13900 block of South Edbrooke Avenue directed police to the building where the man was located. Police said the man, identified as Steven L. Watson, pointed his gun at police after being ordered to drop it. An officer shot at Watson, killing him, according to police.
