OREGON: Police identify off-duty officer arrested in deputy shooting case

13 year veteran  Hillsboro police officer Timothy Cannon, 46, was off-duty when he shot a police officer during a domestic incident at his residence

FOREST GROVE, OREGON - Hillsboro police have identified an off-duty officer arrested following a reported domestic disturbance that led to shots being fired at his home in Forest Grove.
Deputies were called out to the home of Timothy Cannon, 46, at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday after a domestic disturbance was reported between the officer and his wife, investigators said.
Deputies said they tried talking to Cannon, but he barricaded himself inside his home.
SWAT officers and Forest Grove police were also called to the scene.
At one point, officers made their way inside the home. Shots were fired, investigators said. During the exchange, a Washington County Sheriff's deputy was shot in the hand.
Cannon has been a Hillsboro police officer assigned to the patrol division for the past 13 years. He is charged with attempted aggravated murder, according to the Washington County Jail's website.
Neighbors told FOX 12 that officers went door to door to evacuate those living nearby to a church.
"All of our neighbors in this neighborhood are really nice, and everyone we meet is wonderful," said Amanda Clark, who lives in the area. "There's a lot of kids in the neighborhood and obviously go to school with all of them."
The sheriff's deputy shot in the hand was treated and released from a local hospital. Cannon was also taken to the hospital and released.
Investigators said his wife and 6-year-old daughter were in the home, but not harmed during the incident.
