A person was fatally shot this morning by Homewood police responding to a call in the south suburb, officials said.
The incident happened at 6:46 a.m. after police were called to the 900 block of Olive Road for a disturbance at a Section 8 U.S. Government subsidized apartment building there, according to a police spokeswoman.
When police arrived to the 3rd floor unit of the building, they were confronted by an occupant of the apartment, police said. The confrontation led police to fatally shoot the person, police said.
