Memorial Service conducted by peers of Thomas Boyle in Afghanistan. A Marine Corps Veteran and retired Chicago Police Officer, Boyle, aged 62, was killed by insurgents on June 19, 2012 at an undisclosed location.

Reports indicate that Boyle was felled by eight bullet wounds. Thomas Boyle was later honored on August 20, 2012 by the City of Chicago at a Gold Star Ceremony, an honor reserved for those Chicago Police Officers killed in the line of duty.
