A 23-year-old Chicago man died Thursday morning after he apparently climbed onto the iconic dome of the InterContinental Hotel and fell into a smokestack.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim Thursday as Nicholas Wieme of the 4800 block of North Albany and formerly of Pipestone, MN.
