Dr. Milt Rosenberg retires after 39 years at WGN

WGN-AM 720 late-night mainstay Milt Rosenberg is ending his 39-year run at the station this week, executives announced Monday. 

His show, "Extension 720 with Milt Rosenberg," will air a final retrospective Thursday night.  The 10 p.m. slot will be filled by former WLS-AM 890 host Turi Ryder. 

"I'm thankful to my listeners, and I'm proud to have shared almost 40 years with them," Rosenberg said in a statement.  "We attempted to provide intelligent radio featuring the movers and observers of history being made as well as with programs on established history, the popular and 'high' arts, and sciences from cosmology to sociology -- all mixed with frequent forays into more light-hearted fare."
