UPDATE: Police reporting the black male driver quickly crossed the center line and struck Sean Larmon's vehicle head and killing Sean Larmon instantly.
Both drivers were killed and now both have been identified: Demetrius "Gin" Caples, 28, of the 9200 block of South Vanderpoel Avenue, and Sean Larmon, 36, of the 10800 block of South Whipple Street. A female black passenger of Demetrius "Gin" Caples remains in critical condition.
UPDATE: One of the dead identified: One of the men was identified as Sean Larmon, 36, of the 10800 block of South Whipple Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. In addition to Sean Larmon's death a male black was pronounced dead who was the driver of the other vehicle and a female black passenger is in critical condition. They have yet to be identified by authorities.
The crash occurred about 2:20 a.m. in the 3400 block of West 115th Street, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
It appeared that a vehicle crossed a center line before colliding with a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed that two males were killed in the collision. Authorities are still in the process of notifying family members.
A female was also taken to a local hospital, where she was listed in serious condition.
